The Panhellenic Club of Annapolis was founded in 1933 by a local group of college sorority alumnae mostly for socializing but by 1945, as the club developed, By-laws were estabilished. It was also in 1945 that our popular annual Fashion Show/Luncheon began for the purpose of raising funds for scholarships to county-wide graduating high school girls going to colleges or universities with national sororities. Today the scholarships have become Merit Awards based on scholarship, leadership, and community service that are awarded in April.
Further yearly activities include collecting needed items for the Weinberg House, a home for displaced women and children, and our festive Christmas Brunch for friends and spouses.
Our club meets on the fourth Thursday of every month September through May for lunch that includes an interesting program at a member's home from 11:00 to 2:00. We are proud to tell you that for the last five years Panhellenic of Annapolis has received the National Programming Excellence Award.
Continuing commitment to to the greater Annapolis community and to the challenges of keeping pace with the changing and future needs of our sorority collegiates and alumnae is rewarding. This is your opportunity to further your sorority experience of friendship, leadership, and philanthropy. Please come join us!
Yours in Panhellenic,
Marilyn Coolidge, President
